The Science Behind Cannabidiol (CBD) and The Human Endocannabinoid System
Cannabidiol is a chemical compound in the hemp plant that interacts with the body's central regulatory system (the encodannabinoid system),triggering a healing response.

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
All humans have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in their body with CB1 and CB2 receptors found inneural and non-neural tissue. This biochemical communication system acts as a master hormonal and metabolic regulatory system. Our bodies naturally produce endocannabinoids that interact with our ECS and our phytocannabinoid rich hemp supplements interact with the same receptors for an incredible, non-toxic way to support the ECS. Thus cannabinoids, like cannabidiol (CBD), can modulate many physiological systems in the human brain and body, including: appetite, pain, sensation, mood, memory, immune system functions and inflammation control. Essentially, helping the body maintain homeostasis. Over 23,000 medical studies have been performed that demonstrate the benefits of cannabinoids. |
Cannabidiol (CBD)
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 85 unique compounds found in hemp, known as (phyto)cannabinoids. CBD is a non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid and the second most abundant compound in the hemp plant, representing up to 40% of its extracts. Pleiotropic in nature, CBD produces many medicinal benefits, through multiple molecular pathways in the ECS. CBD does not bind directly to CB1+2 receptors in the ECS, but rather suppresses the enzyme fatty acid amide hydroxyls (FAAH). FAAH is responsible for breaking down anandamide; which is a natural occurring endocannabinoid in the body that activates CBD1+2 receptors and triggers the body's healing, response. The body's healing response can be amplified through the consumption of synergistic, whole hemp plant compounds. |
